Bringing your child to work day is a special day when parents can bring their children to their workplace. It’s usually held on the fourth Thursday in April. This year’s date is April 25th 2025. The main idea behind this event is to help kids understand what their parents do for a living, inspiring them to think about their future careers.
Freshman Allie Bowen says “I look forward to going to bring your kid to work every year because I want to do something similar to my parents.”
On this day parents often plan fun activities for their kids, like tours of the office, hands-on activities, or even short presentations about the different jobs their workforce may offer. This gives children a chance to learn about various professions and see what it’s like to work in different fields. It can also help them understand the importance of education and what skills they might need for the future.
Freshman Laney Perry says “Going to bring your kid to work day opens up so many opportunities for me.”
Besides learning about careers, bringing your kid to work day is a great opportunity for families to bond. Kids get to see their parents in a different light and learn about challenges they face at work. This experience can spark conversations between parents and kids about dreams, goals and the hard work that goes into achieving this lifestyle. Overall it’s a fun and educational day that helps kids start to think about their own future.
Freshman Vanshika Durvasula says “Even if I don’t go this year I am still looking forward to what my little brother has to say about my parent’s jobs.”
