Residing in room 500 with a warm smile is Briar Woods’ newest research biology teacher, Mr. Kline! Originally hailing from New Jersey before moving to Chesapeake, Virginia, this is Mr. Kline’s 4th year teaching, and 1st year in Loudoun County. Graduating from William & Mary after studying biology, Kline has always found a passion in science. He has previously taught various science-based electives, though biology has always been his main focus. He credits his mom as his inspiration for his career path, as she was a teacher as well.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Kline excels in the line of sports! He loves watching and playing various sports including football, soccer, and rugby. In fact, he played as the linebacker on his college rugby team, acting as not only the captain, but the coach as well. Despite his successful time as an athlete, Mr. Kline has always put his education first, earning the title of male athlete with the highest gpa in junior and senior year of high school. Aside from sports, Mr. Kline partakes in a diverse range of hobbies. He enjoys the arts, playing guitar and collecting vinyls to commemorate his love for music. He’s especially fond of literature and reads and writes poetry in his free time.
Mr. Kline has described his first month at Briar Woods as a warm and welcoming transition, and he hopes to reciprocate that same energy towards his students. His goal is to make those who come to learn in his class feel comfortable and safe, and to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared for those around him.
