1989 (Taylors Version)

1989 (Taylors Version)

“Band-Aids don’t fix bullet holes” – Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift originally wrote this line to address the struggles when trying to make a name for herself.

On October 27 at midnight, Taylor Swift released her newest album as a way to own the masters that were lost to Scooter Braun. She has remade her old albums to cement her rights to the music and the profits. Within the new release we have Fearless, RED, Speak Now, and now we are getting 1989, which is this reviewer’s favorite album to date.

Rumor has it that Swift wrote over 150 songs for the original album but is now only releasing five new songs, leaving many to believe that she will release the other at a later date. Based on some of her other songs, many fans believe that her new songs will be slow and quiet. But there is one specific song,“ S!ut” that is thought to be a very upbeat song. “She dated like a normal 23 year old would and in her words, she was used as a national lightning rod for the issue,” says Kathryn Wenborn, a fan from Australia.

Taylor Swift is an artist known for her intention.  On the cover of the new album she has place hints of her album Reputation on the new cover.  Looking closely, one can see that the shape of the S in “Version” looks just like a snake. And it looked like Swift spells out “10 N” in the type face as well, which is believed to resemble Nov 10, the date of a scheduled concert in Argentina and the original release date of Reputation.  Swift is a mastermind so everything she does is intentional. There was also a glitch on the the 1989 TV website where everything turned black. Coincidence? Likely not.
