Key Club Hosts Annual Blood Drive

On October 22nd, Briar Woods Key Club will be holding their annual blood drive in partnership with INOVA. The blood drive will be located in the Briar Woods library during the school day, and students over 16-years of age are encouraged to sign up to donate blood. Juice boxes, snacks, and the opportunity to provide a vital resource to the community are all incentives for students to come out to volunteer their time and resources.

Briar Woods Key Club has received overwhelming support in past years, and student participation is the key to their success. According to INOVA, one blood donor has the potential to save three lives, and high schoolers play a crucial role in this donation process. In the 2017-18 school year, high schoolers made up 22% of all of INOVA’s Blood Donor Service collections. The more people that come out, the more resources can be provided to ensure that INOVA can continue to provide lifesaving services to their patients.
