On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Briar Woods High School lost to Lightridge High School in three sets. Starting the first set slowly, Briar steadily falls behind in points, ending the set 13-25. Bringing their A-game, Briar takes a strong start in the second set, maintaining points with Lightridge. However, not being able to maintain the pace, Briar falls behind again, ending the second set 16-25. Taking an early lead in the third set, Briar struggles with their defensive system. Again, falling behind in points, the third and final set ended with Briars losing at 17-25. Molly Gardner, a senior and libero for Briar, says that the team is “still working on bonding on the court,” with the new roster, but that “the bonding off the court is great.”
