Outer Banks part two was officially released on Nov. 7 claiming the number one spot on the top ten TV shows on Netflix, as of November. 18.
Part two of OBX season 4 left everyone’s jaws on the floor. Sophomore Joe Mikhael says “I thought the ending was pretty sad, disappointing and very unexpected.”
This season officially wrapped up with the Pogues’ journey to Morocco, where they were in a race to find the Blue Crown (a piece of treasure that belonged to Black Beard). The Pogues also faced a group of mercenaries, as well as the dispute between JJ and his father. We also learn about the status between John B and Sarah. Ultimately, the Pogues were able to get their hands on the Blue Crown but it came with a sacrifice. After JJ was able to retrieve the treasure, the Pogues had to figure out how to read the map by decoding it. Towards the end of the season JJ hands the crown to Chandler Groff in exchange for Kiara’s life. Once again, they leave empty handed.
Stone Bridge Sophomore, Gianna Jacob claims that she “thought the season was very abrupt, I definitely did not see that coming at all. It left me shocked and upset for sure. The show won’t be the same. I hope next season they actually keep the treasure for once. They always seem to lose it and are always left in a sticky situation. I hope this next season they can have a happy ending.”
While both students enjoyed the show, they had expectations from what they would like to see happen in part two.
Mikhael explains that he “expected to know more about JJ’s family,” adding “which we did.”
Jacob, however, expected “Mr. Groff to turn out bad, I was very suspicious of him.” Without giving any spoilers, Jacob additionally adds I also expected the unexpected; something crazy to happen without any warnings or signs.”
With the season officially wrapped up, Chase Stokes made an official announcement on Instagram just three days before the release. “Now with a little sadness, but also excitement, we’re putting Season Four behind us, and are turning to Season Five . . . Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet.” says Stokes.
Since the announcement, fans are unsure when we will see the Pogues again. Filming will begin sometime in 2025 with no official release date yet.
