Over the past year, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increased significantly throughout a variety of platforms. Whether it is ChatGPT, MetaAI or OpenAI.

Recently in the news, Marvel star Scarlett Johansson has threatened to sue OpenAI for using her voice without consent. According to interview and documents shared by the Washington Post, OpenAI cloned Scarlett Johansson’s voice.

OpenAI denies claims that they were using the actress’s voice. Records show a different actress was hired to portray the voice for ChatGPT’s character “Sky” according to documents and recordings shared with the Washington Post.

Could we potentially see this case in court? What could this look like for both sides? As of May 30th, it is not confirmed that this case will go to court. However, the case still remains in the news and there are no official answers on what will happen next.

Adults and teens continue to use these platforms to help with their essays, homework, or presentations. Will this continue to make a difference in our everyday lives? What will happen next with AI?
