Coachella is an annual arts and music celebration and was hosted at the Empire Polo Club in California in April of 2024. Coachella celebrates the arts by giving a series of performances on stages around the area.
Some well-known artists who performed were “Lana Del Ray, Billie Eilish, and Tyler the Creator,” said Leyla James, a student at Briar Woods. Lizzo was once an unknown artist, and now everyone is belting out her song “Truth Hurts” after her Coachella performance. According to Shad Powers from Desert Sun, some of the underrated artists in 2024 included are “Olivia Dean, Raye, The Japanese House, The Drums, Young Fathers, and Chapel Roan.” Performing at Coachella opens up many opportunities for small artists, exemplified by the new album that started to rise from The Drums and the million followers gained by The Japanese House because of her cover of Super Trouper by Abba. Raye was one of the biggest of the more miniature stages and was even featured in the Brit Musical Award after Coachella.
