On the night of June 24, 2019, we lost a beloved member of the Briar Woods High School community. That evening, Mr. Jonathon Kite, our school’s assistant principal, died in a double-fatal car crash.

Chris O’Rourke, principal of Briar Woods High School up until this year, said of Mr. Kite: “Jonathon made an indelible mark on our community since joining the Briar Woods administrative team two years ago after serving at Potomac Falls High School and with the central administration.”

To honor his memory, Briar Woods High School will be holding a memorial for Mr. Kite on October 18, at 5:00 PM in the auditorium. There, the band will play music in his memory and speakers will share their stories and memories of Mr. Kite. Afterwards, they will all gather to watch the home football game, which was Mr. Kite’s favorite way to spend Friday nights.

Stay tuned for an updated story following the memorial service.
